I'm beginning to think I can't knit.

I've cast on at least twice for the Optik scarf, but both times, the stitches got too tight to knit into by the end of the second row (not counting the cast-on row).

I'm hoping this is just a case of me and the bamboo knitting needles not getting along. They don't seem pointy enough, and the yarn doesn't slide on them well. I'm also not liking the way the bendy part wants to stay in one particular shape (the way it was curled in the package).
