Another yarn store

I got to go to Green Valley Weavers & Knitters today. Oh, boy, do they have some great stuff! I was almost drooling they had so much nice stuff. It was definitely hard narrowing down what to get w/o breaking the bank.

I ended up getting 2 skeins of Berroco Optik in the Tiffany colorway. I totally fell in love with it when I saw it, and the price wasn't too outlandish ($11.00 for an 87 yard hank). I plan to make a scarf out of it. That way, the stitch at least should be easy enough for my first project (just knit every row), which should help make up for trying to do it with such an unusually textured yarn.

I also got some Wildfoote sock yarn to try to make socks out of, some Clover bamboo circular needles (or is that needle... since it's all attached together, is it singular or plural?) in size 10.5 to use for the scarf, and some size 2 double-point needles to try making socks out of. I'm afraid of dpns... they seem so complicated... so, I thought I'd just jump in and face my fear.

Then, I wanted to get some sort of basic knitting instruction book/booklet. I looked at a few, and wished I could get the Vogue Knitting: The Ultimate Knitting Book, but at nearly $40, that was a little more than I could handle. Then I found the Quick Reference version, and bought that... it was only $20. Rather than waiting for that picture, I'll just steal one off the web:
