Knot Again

1 granny, 2 granny, 3 granny, 4.

Well, I've finished two of the granny square bases. I'm happy to say they both turned out the same size. I'm in the middle of working on the 3rd, and I expect I'll be able to have all 4 done by tonight.

I will need to add a row of sc around the edge to make them exactly six inches, but that's fine... it'll give me an excuse to tie in with one of the colors in the embellishments.

These will be the first grannies I've done. The nice thing about grannies is that they're so easy I could almost do them in my sleep. It'll be something I'll be able to do regardless of most distractions, and something to fall back on when I'm too stressed to do any of the more complex things I sometimes work on.

No, no, no, no, no

I had to frog it again! I re-finished round 20 and was half way around round 21 when I noticed a part of the pattern I missed on one of the repeats. So, tons of crocheting today, but not really much progress.

At this rate, I won't have this done in time to send it to my swap partner, and I REALLY want her to have it... it would be perfect for her.

I also managed to agree to do some granny squares for an afghan for a lady who just had surgery. I'm happy to do them, it's just that they're also due at the same time, and so are another thing that might keep me for finishing this doily.

Round and round and round I go.

I've been working on this special doily for a swap I'm doing. It's the Elemental Acheivement doily in Patricia Kristofferson's Ultimate Doilies book. I really love how textural it is. It has 39 rounds, and it's supposed to end up being 19 inches across. My gauge swatch was much smaller than what it was supposed to be, though, so I'm not sure if it will end up being nearly that large.

I just frogged an entire round because I thought I made a mistake. Now I'm not sure if I did... I may have been looking at the wrong part of the pattern for this round. UGH!

At least I'm past round 19. That was the hardest one so far, and I had to frog it at least once, too.

Well, this is really just to test the waters here. If you're reading this, you can know that you're at the end.
